The WCED, with the support of other organizations, holds competitions that inculcate entrepreneurial qualities such as risk taking, innovation and the right mindset to tap opportunities. These competitions are designed to simulate the real world entrepreneurial set up.
Business Plan Competition The Business Plan Competition provides students the opportunity of working on a business plan from start to finish. Students get a chance to develop and test their skills at planning and leadership. This gives them the necessary know-how when they set out to practice their entrepreneurial skills on a truly live project.
Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC) The ISB believes in contributing to the development of vibrant entrepreneurial ventures in the social sector. The Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC) exposes entrepreneurs, investors, managers and executives to the smartest new social ventures, and provides opportunities for corporate giving, community involvement and investment. The competition which began in 1999, is organized by the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, the Columbia Business School and the London Business School, and supported by the Goldman Sachs Foundation. The ISB is GSVC’s international affiliate and has the responsibility of promoting the competition in Asia and organizing the Asia Round.
Metamorphosis-A Unique B-school Competition Metamorphosis is a business plan competition with a difference. It offers student teams from leading Indian Business Schools a unique opportunity to help innovators creating technologies, indigenously evaluate the commercial potential of their innovations by answering the question: Are there opportunities in the market that the innovator(s) can profitably exploit using this technology? Teams will thus participate in the process of leveraging indigenous technology to create visible economic and social impact.
