Executive Director's Message
August 2008

Welcome to our website. We appreciate your interest in learning more about us. We are en route on a revitalised journey - redefining our goals, remodelling our endeavours and reinventing ourselves all the time. And all the while we are mindful of fulfilling the aspirations and expectations of all our stakeholders; supporters, students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and the society at large.

The WCED sees entrepreneurship development as critical to economic growth, prosperity and social equity at all levels of the society, and across all nations. It is with this vision that the WCED intends to direct all its energy and resources to create and disseminate an appropriate body of knowledge, to enhance the strength and vitality of entrepreneurs, and enable them to be an integral and important part of the global economy.

During this journey, the research focus of the WCED is on creating a critical ecosystem that is vital for a vibrant entrepreneurial environment – from policy areas to the needs and characteristics of aspiring as well as successful entrepreneurs. At WCED, knowledge creation and dissemination efforts are collaborative in nature. The focus is on how to build the ecosystem needed to nurture and develop an entrepreneurial culture that would consider the broader societal and environmental challenges as an integral part of their future business. This includes common platforms where entrepreneurs can share their experiences and knowledge, deliberate on issues, and build and foster networks.

The WCED efforts will also focus on capacity building through partnerships with government, industry bodies, entrepreneurs, institutions, faculty as well as the alumni of ISB. As we make progress in this revitalised journey, we will share our milestones with you periodically.

Dr Krishna Tanuku
