TiE-ISB Connect

TiE-ISB Connect is a joint initiative of TiE, Hyderabad Chapter and the Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship at the ISB. It is a forum that brings together early stage venture capitalists, start-up and growth stage entrepreneurs and academicians, on a common platform to interact and help build successful enterprises.

TiE–ISB Connect 2007 was held at the ISB from November 14-16, 2007. This year we had significantly up-scaled the scope and magnitude of the event, with discussion tracks on diverse sectors including  Mobile Convergence, Life Sciences and Health Care, Security and Biometrics, Retail Industry, Real Estate and Infrastructure, and New Media and Entertainment.

Each track had a keynote address by a successful entrepreneur, a review of global trends in the sector by an analyst, and a panel discussion by venture capitalists and successful entrepreneurs on sector opportunities. Entrepreneurs seeking opportunities in these sectors also attended the event as delegates. The entrepreneur community was benefited from two specific opportunities:

  • Investor Pitch – Presenting your project to potential investors.
  • Jumpstart your Venture – Workshop preparing the aspiring entrepreneur for an exciting journey

TiE-ISB Connect 2006, brought the investing community, technologists, academicians, successful and budding entrepreneurs together on a common platform. Over 500 people participated in the event. Forty early-stage enterprises were selected from over 200 entries for presentation to VCs. Most of them have progressed well and are at advanced stage of discussions.

The first TiE-ISB Connect 2005, held in July 2005 was a resounding success with over 300 delegates attending the full-day event.  Over 100 business ideas were presented to VCs and 15 of them have fructified.
