With the rapid rise of digital technologies, new data sources have emerged that can be combined to create rich big data. This big data can be “mined” to get insights and evidence for  public policy making and analysis which was not possible earlier. However, as all data creation is circumscribed by the policy environment, we also need to have “policies for big data” that can help in using “big data for policy”.
