Research Associate in Economics

Professor Aaditya Dar and Shilpa Aggarwal are looking to hire multiple full-time Research Associates (RAs) to conduct research in the fields of development economics, applied microeconomics and political economy. Current projects span topics in agriculture, health, microfinance and governance. 
These are long-term positions. Candidates would ideally begin around June 1, 2019 and commit to work for at least two years.

Benefits : Salary is competitive, and compensation will be commensurate with experience. Candidate will work in close collaboration with ISB faculty, attend research seminars, and learn practical skills required in a graduate program in economics, public policy or a related discipline. Previous RAs have gained admission at top PhD programs in the US.

Responsibilities 
Responsibilities include various aspects of research and analysis such as data management, coding econometric techniques and preparation of presentations and papers. There may also be opportunities to travel, conduct fieldwork and co-author papers with faculty.



Skills and Qualifications 
  • Master’s degree with strong quantitative and programing skills, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • While a degree in economics is not required per se, candidates should have strong interests in empirical economics.
  • Computer science students wishing to transition to economics are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates with research experience are strongly preferred, especially those skilled at Stata and Python
