Dr. Saumya Sindhwani

Dr. Saumya Sindhwani is clinical assistant professor in the strategy and leadership group.  Her research interests are at the intersection of strategy, leadership and society. Given the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) environment, she actively looks into the multifaceted challenges faced by organisations while designing and implementing strategy. She also has keen interest in the role of women as economic change agents, including their leadership styles. Her other research and teaching interest includes: Negotiation Analysis, she draws upon her consulting experience where she has lead large deals and projects.

She has published three books, one on leadership and the other on the role of creativity in business titled: Nurturing Business Leaders and Creative Management. She has also published a business novel, titled Game Changers. She was previously with Singapore Management University. Prior to entering academia she spent many years as a consultant with Aon Hewitt (previously known as Hewitt Associates), where she was a director and solution leader. At Aon Hewitt she led large scale projects for multinational organisations, multilateral bodies and governments. Her projects involved, leadership development, organisational transformation, skill development and assessment. She has extensively been involved in executive coaching and development. She was also awarded a thought leader award in 2008, while she was at Aon Hewitt. Prior to that she worked with British Broadcasting Corporation. She has worked in various countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. She regularly publishes in applied journals and presents at various academic conferences and corporate events. She has published numerous cases in the area of strategy, social enterprises and leadership.  She is also a poet, her poems have been published in various anthologies.
