Job Purpose

To be responsible for the departments of Camera, Lights and Stores thus ensuring the smooth technical functioning of the ISB Studios.

The Indian School of Business (ISB)’s vision is to be an internationally top-ranked, research-driven, independent management institution that grooms future leaders for India and the world. In the 20th year of its journey, ISB is set to commission ISB Studios - a state of the art television and podcast production facility. Capable of 4K multi-camera television productions, documentary films, short videos and podcasts.

 

As the Studio Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the shooting, lighting and stores management of the ISB Studios. You will work with the Sr Manager and other production staff in the planning of studio and field productions. You have to be comfortable around expensive and delicate equipment with an eye for detail. You need to translate the Director’s vision onto the screen as a set of well-crafted images. And be conversant with lighting gear to re-create the desired look and feel.

 

Responsibilities

·         Oversee the day-to-day operation of the studio, including the set-up and operation of camera and lighting equipment.

·         Perform pre-production activities such as equipment allocation, location scouting, lighting design plan and audio-visual resource management.

  • Plan and shoot video in studio and on location as needed to ensure high production quality.
  • Assist in meetings with clients regarding production process.
  • Troubleshoot issues during all parts of the production process.

·         Manage Studios’ camera and lighting assets by maintaining records and quality checks on return.

 

Requirements

·         Proven experience as camera operator/ DoP/ professional lighting expert

·         Ability to understand and follow camera scripts

·         Design, rig and operate lighting fixtures and assign them to a lighting console

 

·         Attention to detail and processes

·         Physical strength and stamina to carry required equipment

·         Organisational and team-work skills

Specific Skills

Desirable Experience

A degree/diploma in film, mass-media or professional certification in the area of Cinematography/ Photography/Videography is a must.

 

 

Professional skills in Cinematography/ Photography/ Videography including VR.

In-depth working understanding of all aspects of TV studio/ on-location production. Experience in the use of television studio lighting, filming and monitoring.

Must be able to work independently and in a team.

 

10-15 years of which a significant portion must be as a DoP in a multi-camera TV Studio set-up.

Prior experience in lighting and shooting for live broadcast shows is a must.

Familiar using latest camera and lighting equipment across OEM’s like Blackmagic, Panasonic, Sony, Canon, Pearl, Canara, etc.
