CIE in collaboration with Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), Government of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy (APITA), Government of Andhra Pradesh launched the Technology Entrepreneurship Programme (TEP) in 2014. The primary objectives of the programme were to foster entrepreneurial mindset in engineering students, link entrepreneurial and innovative behaviour to education and career pathways, mentor and support students to launch their own ventures and provide an environment experience for engineering students to create technology based startups. TEP has completed five (5) batches, out of which four (4) were in 2 year format and the last batch was in 1 year format.
TEP saw consistent participation from various tier of colleges across several districts from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana such as Visakhapatnam, East & West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Anantapur and Chittoor from AP and Nalgonda, Warangal, Hyderabad and Rangareddy from Telangana. On an average, across the 5 batches 30% of the students were girls. The programme saw tremendous repeat participation from several colleges in Telangana and AP. Over the course of five batches, more than 1370 students graduated from the programme.
TEP had a far reaching impact. ISB's integrated hands-on educational approach not only gave students an opportunity to see their ideas take shape, but also benefited the wider range of stakeholders across the ecosystem. The overall benefits of TEP were as below:
