Shadow a CEO
Shadow a CEO is a unique programme organised by the Indian School of Business (ISB) as part of Daan Utsav (earlier known as the Joy of Giving Week) to inculcate the habit of giving among the youth of India and provide them with an opportunity to interact up close with the country’s most successful managerial talent. The programme has been a great success since its launch in 2009. A
The objective of Shadow a CEO is two-fold:
- Engage the youth in the act of giving
- Provide them with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to observe and learn lessons by spending a day with some of the biggest CXOs.
The students bid for the CXO of their choice in a live auction. The CXO then contributes an equal amount, if not more and the collective corpus goes to a charity of the CXO's choice.
We are proposing an Offline model shadowing experience. The details are as per below.
- In the offline shadowing, the student would spend an entire day with the CXO, shadowing him/ her while the CXO performs his/ her day-to-day activities
The details of CXO's preference for offline shadowing are mentioned below.
Current post-graduate (PGP) students of ISB and other top business schools like IIMA, IIMB, IIMC, IIM L, and XLRI can participate in the event.

I shadowed Mr Ajoy Misra, MD of Tata Global Beverages Ltd. The office is located very close to the iconic Bombay House(the home of Tatas). During the entire day I had several 1-1 with him. I even had the fortune of attending a meeting with Tata Trusts. It gave me a unique insight into the typical working day of a CEO. The experience was humbling and unique.
