Sanjeev Krishan is the Chairman-elect of PwC in India. Previously, he served as the Deals leader, with over 29 years of professional experience in carrying out due diligence reviews, share and business valuations, business plan and working capital reviews for multi-national clients as well as domestic clients, both in the private and public sectors. Sanjeev was appointed as the Deals leader in 2017 and was instrumental in building the Deals Strategy practice and Business Recovery Services practice, re-energising the Corporate Finance business and incubating Value Creation in Deals over the last 3 years. Having served in diverse leadership and client service roles, he has extensive India and overseas experience in Deals, working across a range of sectors, such as technology, consumer, and industrial products. Sanjeev also successfully led the Transaction Services practice between 2013 and 2020, developing strong relationships with several domestic and international corporations. Simultaneously, he led the firm’s Private Equity practice for around 7 years. He has spearheaded the relationship with most global private equity funds, getting the firm to a pre-eminent position amongst its Private Equity clients and their investee companies. Sanjeev worked with PwC Stockholm between 1998 and 2000 where he gained exposure in working with financial investors and also worked with numerous strategic investors. Apart from India and the Scandinavian countries, he has worked on deals in United States, United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Japan, Thailand, and Middle East. Sanjeev frequently interacts with the media on various issues ranging from insolvency to mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, he regularly participates in seminars, panel discussions and events held in India, as well as overseas, and is also part of FICCI’s National Committee on Stressed Assets. Sanjeev is a member of the Rotary Club of Delhi, South. He is a certified Chartered Accountant, and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Sanjeev graduated with First Class in Economics from the University of Delhi and remains an active and proud alum. A New Delhi native, he joined the firm after graduation. Sanjeev is passionate about playing a part in building a sustainable future for the society we live in, and actively advocates the causes of conservation, socio-economic inclusion and diversity. He has also been specifically focussed on sponsorship of women employees, especially to get them back to work after their mid-career breaks.
