Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi, had launched the ‘Make in India’ programme to place India on the world map as a manufacturing hub and give global recognition to the Indian economy. India is expected to overtake Germany to become the fourth largest economy in the world by the end of the year 2026.
The new growth trajectory will result in the need for skills, other than just domain competency. Proactiveness and understanding of market competition will be an essential skill for success in the manufacturing sector. Indian players must develop a better strategy to understand their customers and the changing patterns, to remain competitive against China.
Professionals at middle and senior management level will have to acquire additional skills, other than just domain competency. Innovation, data analysis, competitive strategy, negotiation skills, understanding Industry 4.0, etc., will be a must to remain relevant in the highly competitive business landscape that manufacturing and engineering verticals thrive in.

The Action Learning Project (ALP) is an essential pedagogical tool that is designed to give participants a chance to deploy their classroom learning in real-life scenarios. It is a group exercise executed under the guidance of a mentor/guide from ISB. Participants have the option of bringing a live project from the organisation where they are currently employed or can bid for projects from other organisations.
The certificate course is designed with inputs from practitioners from Industry. Our Industry Advisory Council members have provided inputs on various aspects of the programme including curriculum, data sets, projects to keep the course relevant to industry needs. Another important aspect of the programme is the "Action Learning Project", which has a strong Industry-Academia collaboration. The Advanced Management Programme for Manufacturing & Operations has been developed with inputs from academia and the industry. Academic board comprises Senior Faculty and Academicians who work towards enriching the academic programs. The Advanced Management Programme for Manufacturing and Operations is created to meet the increasing need for techno-business managers for the manufacturing sector. ISB has enduring relationships with some of India’s most renowned leaders in Manufacturing and Operations Management many of whom are invited to speak during AMPMO residencies and share their experiences in specific sectors. These inspiring sessions provide students first-hand insights into Manufacturing and Operations and the critical challenges faced by the corporates. It ensures an enriching learning experience for the students and a chance for them to interact closely with the distinguished academics and business experts, complementing their rigorous course curriculum. This exercise also helps build and strengthen the relationship between ISB and the world's leading professionals.
AMPMO is a rigorous and challenging programme. It is designed as a 12-month, modular programme with four residencies, delivered in a blended learning format (on-line and off-line classes) that minimises disruption at work.
We endeavour to provide our students with an experience of both campuses of ISB. Hence, three residencies are held at the Mohali Campus, and one residency is held at the Hyderabad Campus. The graduation ceremony is held at the Mohali Campus.
Will I get a Master of Business Administration Degree in Manufacturing?

The program entails four visits of nine days each over a year ( Which includes weekends)
We anticipate participants having to spend 8-10 hours per week on pre-reading material and assignments.
Once you are admitted, please brush up your mathematics. For the rest, you will be provided adequate pre-read material.
The course material prepared by the faculty in terms of pre-reads, links to relevant websites and related literature will be made available to you in advance. You will have ample time to prepare and complete your pre-reads.
The materials will be uploaded on the Learning Management System (LMS) portal.
You can post your queries on the discussion board in the LMS and Teaching Assistant will resolve your query. If needed, Teaching Assistant will call you and clarify the queries.
Of course, your course mates can also respond to your query, making the learning collaborative.
No. We do not have a GMAT requirement, however if you have taken GMAT before, please submit the scores along with your application and we will consider the same in our admission decision process. We do not need the official scores.
If you have a GMAT score above cut–off, there is no need to appear for the online test.
We do not encourage deferrals. In exceptional circumstances deferral may be granted upon submission of documentary proof supporting your reasons for deferral. A non-refundable deferral fee needs to be paid, in addition to the admission fee, to secure your place for the next class. The deferral fee is adjusted in your programme fee when you join the programme. Please note that the programme fee applicable to the year of joining the programme will apply.
Deferral is granted for a maximum of one year beyond which you will need to reapply.
In such a scenario you will have to reapply for the next academic year.

Yes. Interviews allow us to hear about your experiences first hand and make a qualified judgment. Interviews will be conducted via teleconference or video conference facilities in most cases.
In case a student has to withdraw from the programme for either academic, personal or administrative reasons, the student will receive a pro-rated refund for only the remaining terms to the extent that the student has paid for those terms in advance. No refund will be granted for the terms which have already commenced or have been completed. The programme office reserves the right to deduct additional amounts which have been paid in advance to vendors for boarding and lodging, etc. which cannot be recovered by ISB even though the participant has not attended the terms for which these expenses were incurred in advance.

It depends on the timing of your decision. The refund is governed by the refund policy prevailing at that time.

No, you do not have to be financially sponsored by your firm to be eligible for the programme. However, all participants need to provide a letter of support from your firm in the prescribed format available from the application portal.
The letter of support basically states that your employer is aware of the fact that you are attending this programme. It also states whether you are also being sponsored financially and to what extent and whether the leave granted to you to attend the programme is paid, unpaid or a mix of both.
This is required since the programme is meant for working professionals and needs them to be away from work for a number of days which usually exceeds the annual leave granted in most organisations.
