Post Event Summary Diffusion is a capacity building workshop for non-profit organisations conducted annually by the Net Impact Club of the School. “Network – Learn – Share”, the tagline for Diffusion 2013, aptly highlights the objective of the two day workshop held recently at the Mohali Campus. The purpose of the workshop is to instill entrepreneurial approaches in traditional non-profit organisations to enable them to scale effectively and achieve operational efficiency.

The workshop included modules such as Organization Building, Social Innovation in Sustainable Business Model and Brand Building and Market Activities among others delivered primarily by students and faculties of the School. It was a unique experience for the students to translate their business skills and management learning to social enterprise endeavours. “This initiative suggests how the experiences of NGOs in working with communities syndicate with the best management minds for betterment of the society” said Deepti Shastri, Advisor Secretary to Sai Tara Ummat.

The day two of the workshop began with Parchaiyyan - a short musical play on atrocities against women which sought to draw attention towards gender inequality in our society. The workshop culminated in Unconvention|L - a half day social entrepreneurship event conducted by Villgro Foundation and hosted by the Net Impact Club. At Unconvention|L, the participants got an opportunity to hear inspiring stories of successful social entrepreneurs and learn from their experiences, network with sector leaders and connect to a local eco-system of support and national network of opportunities.

Thirty-five members from various organisations participated in the workshop and it was a new opportunity for many of the participating organisations. It provided them with a platform to learn and share best practices with like-minded organisations.
