As a precursor to the much awaited Marketing in Practice (MIP) programme, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) launched its annual flagship competition - the HUL Lessons in Marketing Excellence (L.I.M.E) at the Hyderabad campus. The competition spans 6 months, features 12 of India’s best B-Schools and is widely regarded as the most extensive and potentially rewarding Marketing competition in India.
The event was launched at ISB Hyderabad by Geetika, Category Head - Foods to Launch. The industry focus for ISB this year was the fast food industry with a case study of Dominos Pizza to work on. Some of the key challenges for which students had to come up with solutions and breakthrough ideas were:
  • How can Dominos remain relevant in its current positioning –‘Yeh hai Rishton Ka time’  and further impregnate it in  consumer minds  across 120+ cities in India where it is present and the new cities it is moving into.
  • While Dominos is perceived as a delivery brand, how can it become more relevant and fortify the Dine-In business in India.
Evaluation Criteria
  • The difference between insight and inference. The importance of insight in LIME and how it helps shape brand development in the corporate world
  • Emphasis on consumer insight.
  • Analysis of the problem statement from consumer point of view as well as marketing point of view
