The Retail Club is a pioneering initiative instituted in 2007 by students of the Indian Business School(ISB) to enable a forward-looking interaction with the industry and to create an understanding of the management skills required in this exciting sector. Retail is one of the fastest growing industries, with organized retail expected to grow at an annual rate of 35%. To sustain this high growth, the industry will need access to top quality management talent. Premier business schools like ISB can play a pivotal role in providing such talent to the industry. In the past, the retail club has organized various events and workshops that have allowed students to network with the industry. From speaker sessions by esteemed panelists such as Kishore Biyani (MD,Future Group), Siva Kumar (Chief Executive, ITC Ltd –Agri Business), to P2P workshops, the retail club members have got a taste of the industry inside out - brick-and-mortar to e-commerce to logistics management.


The mission of the Retail Club is to provide a platform for students to learn the dynamics of the retail industry by facilitating increased industry-alumni-student interaction. In addition, the Club aims to showcase the ISB as a school focused towards the retail and franchising industry and address the industry needs for top-quality managerial talent on a proactive basis.


For the academic year 2018-19, the Retail Club has a plethora of events lined up for the school, the most awaited one being ‘E-Guerra’ (description). Among the traditional speak sessions and P2P workshops, the club is also actively seeking to organize study treks to prominent retail giants situated in/around Hyderabad to offer a more hands-on learning experience to its members.
