Our partner institutes in Mohali

With the hope of creating impact and positive changes to student's lives, Udaan brings togther ISB and two partner istitutes so that students can learn from each other: 

1. Industrial Training Institute (ITI - Women): ITI is a government run skill development insititue for women. Each year, hundreds of women (graduates and school dropouts), enroll in the vocational training program to upskill thesmslves and find sustainable work opportunities. Among many skills and trades that are taught at the institute, ISB students work with over 250 women from the following disciplines :

  • IT and Secretarial Practice: Over 150 women learn the basics of computer softwares and microsoft applications to make get jobs as receptionists and secretaries in small organisations
  • Tailoring Practice: With a class of 45 creative minds, the tailroing practice imparts fundamental concepts of stitching a garment. These young women dream of opening their own boutiques and make an identity for themselves 
  • Beauty Practice: A dream class for every woman, this practice teaches a class of 50 women, the key skills that would help them secure jobs at parlors or start their own beauty services
     
2. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV):  JNVs are co-educational residential schools fully financed and administered by Government of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.  Admission in JNVs are made through the Jawahar Navodaya Selection Test (JNVST) at Class VI and some of the brightest minds of the country get admitted through this highly competitive entrance. 

ISB students are helping over 140 class X and class XII students by making them more aware of the vast career options that exist, and how can they get closer to their dream profession. This includes workshops on the following:
  • Career awareness 
  • Career planning 
  • Entrance examinations preparation 
  • Information on educational scholarships available
