Lead Economist for ISB@G20 Project

 

Job Purpose

lndia would be assuming G-20 Presidency from 1st December 2022. In this context, Indian School of Business would work as a knowledge partner to the Department of Commerce on issues pertaining to Global Value Chains (GVCs). ISB is responsible for developing concept notes, working papers, background papers, and presentations. The Lead Economist would serve as the point-of-contact and manage this 16-month project, under the guidance of Prof. Apoorva Javadekar and Prof. Shekhar Tomar.

Job Outline

The applicant should have relevant work experience (2-3 years) in policy research with the ability to execute research projects independently. The job requires producing research papers, policy briefs, as well as disseminating this research in relevant forums. The key qualifications and skills:

-      Ability to conduct economics research independently

-      Data Collection, Statistical Modelling in Stata, R, or similar packages is also required

-      Writing research papers, concept notes

-      Project Management including coordinating with in-house research teams and external stakeholders

-      Knowledge about international trade issues and Global Value Chains (highly recommended)

-      Ability to work in teams and communicate effectively (e.g., presenting within the G20 project groups)

-      The candidate must have high standards in terms of quality of work, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and absolute commitment to task completion.
