Research Summary of the Faculty:

Professor Pranav Jindal an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Indian School of Business. He does research in the field of quantitative marketing and empirical industrial organization with a focus on pricing, price negotiations, product insurance, consumer beliefs and inter-temporal preferences. He was selected as a 2021 MSI Young Scholar by the Marketing Science Institute.

Prof. Jindal's research has been published in top marketing journals such as Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, Management Science, and Quantitative Marketing and Economics. He has received several grants for his research and serves on the Editorial Review Boards of Journal of Marketing Research and Marketing Science.

Prof. Jindal got his PhD and MBA in Marketing from University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a B. Tech. in Industrial Engineering from IIT Delhi.

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Research Associate, you will be working with Prof. Pranav Jindal on full-time basis. Your responsibilities include:

·      Providing assistance to the faculty – Assisting in their ongoing research work which includes the development of solution algorithms, and designing of computational experiments.

·      Data analysis – cleaning of large data and drawing insights from data. This would require a thorough understanding of univariate and multivariate analysis.

·      Database management – Linking different datasets, ensuring data quality, and processing raw data into processed datasets for modelling and estimation.  

·      Programming surveys – creating market research surveys and experiments in software such as Qualtrics.

·      Synthesis - Literature search and review, summary, presentation, and analytical writing. 

·      Quantitative modeling - Econometric analysis for exploratory data analysis and causal estimation, including visualization and reporting, along with sound knowledge in signal processing/latent models.

·      Conduct market and economic analysis and prepare reports to harvest data and generate presentable insights from the data.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications:

·      B Tech from IIT, NIT, or a top engineering college

·      Master’s or Ph. D degree in a quantitative area such as Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics.

Skills:

·      Excellent analytical and programming skills in statistical software such as Python, R , Stata, SAS and SQL, and survey programming software such as Qualtrics.

·      Experience working with big data systems, concepts, and tools.

·      Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to every detail.

·      Motivation to learn and a strong work ethic.

·      Excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.

·      The position is best suited for a candidate with a PhD or an interest in pursuing a Ph.D. in leading business schools worldwide.
