E-Graduation for 12th batch of ISB’s Certificate Programme in Business Analytics (CBA) organised

Today, 82 data science professionals from the 12th batch (class of summer 2020) were awarded Certificate in Business Analytics (CBA) at a special e-graduation ceremony organised today.  

Offered by the Institute of Data Science at the Indian School of Business (ISB), the CBA programme trains business professionals on important aspects of business analytics like statistics, programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning and business applications such as marketing analytics, financial analytics, retail & supply chain analytics and forecasting analytics. ISB’s business analytics programme is one of the most exhaustive executive-level programmes that equips professionals with the skills required to make data-driven decisions in today’s dynamic business landscape. The CBA programme has been revamped as Advanced Management Programme in Business Analytics (AMPBA) from its 13th batch to add further rigour of the data science and analytics programme along with management skills which will help the students to gain a strategic perspective of the industry.

Shlok Mittal was awarded the gold medal and Anmol More silver medal for achieving academic excellence in the programme. The live business problem statement sponsored by QuantLeap Consulting LLP, titled ‘High-Frequency Pulse Sensing Technology in Healthcare’ won the ‘Best Capstone Project' ,which was executed by students team - Anmol More, Shlok Mittal, Shubhendu Vimal and Sivesh Kango.

Mr Rajiv Kumar, Managing Director and Corporate Vice President at Microsoft India underlined that “ it is a fact that every industry is going through a digital transformation. The onset of COVID-19 saw an intense acceleration of this journey and years of progress has been made in the last few months. Opportunities that are created due to the pandemic will continue to accelerate, further enhanced by 'intelligence created by the data'. Your learnings at ISB is in line with this future. As the technology continues to grow at this astronomical scale, I hope you will continue to learn and grow, shape the future, and create a lasting legacy, with purpose in your life, joy in your heart and grit in your mind."

Professor Rajendra Srivastava, Dean & Novartis Professor of Marketing Strategy, ISB, while congratulating the professionals said that, the need of the hour is to be become more flexible, agile and manage uncertainties. We should equip ourselves in doing things in new & interesting ways and put on new learning caps to address the current and imminent challenges, he said. Access to market information is also an imperative, he underlined. Adding further, Professor Rajendra Srivastava said that the future of organisational set-up would be a  matrix form, where one would be working and reporting at multiple levels. We all should gear up for such new set-ups, he said.

Professor Manish Gangwar, Associate Dean – Research and Research Centers and Institutes and Executive Director of ISB Institute of Data Science highlighted that professionals with expertise in business analytics and data science would be in significant demand in the post current pandemic era, given the growing shift to online commerce. CBA is an career-enriching programme that provides rigorous theoretical and practical training on data management, programming, statistics, he added.
