Overview

Overview

The pandemic has disrupted our health system like never before, highlighting many challenges and opportunities for innovation. Transforming at an unprecedented pace, our health systems and healthcare delivery models are radically changing and increasingly becoming technology-based and patient-driven in the post-pandemic world. The second edition of ISB HealthScape will discuss some of the most innovative and futuristic ways of delivering healthcare. The conference is jointly organised by ISB's Advanced Management Programme for Healthcare (AMPH) and the Healthcare Club of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and will be held virtually on March 25, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:30 pm IST.

The conference will include three panel discussions:

Panel 1: Technology-led models in healthcare

An exponential number of startups and platforms cropped up after the pandemic for faster care delivery via telemedicine, remote monitoring, home healthcare, virtual consultations, etc. This panel will bring some of the pioneers in new platforms’ space who are leveraging technology for innovative, last-mile care delivery. We will discuss how healthcare is different from other consumer products and emerging models in healthcare such as the aggregator models, platform models, transitional care, home healthcare, on-demand healthcare, social/peer-based health networks, personalised medicine/genomics, and predictive analysis.

Panel 2: New-age models in population health

With rapid urbanisation, unhealthy lifestyles, and population ageing, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) threaten the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. How can we reduce the risk factors associated with these diseases by partnering with NGOs and for-profit organisations? Do any low-cost solutions exist for governments and other stakeholders to adopt? What are some of the current examples from of technology aiding NCD management, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs)/resource-constrained settings? This panel will curate real-time and evidence-based solutions to answer some of these questions and discuss technology and healthcare financing for improving population health outcomes.

Panel 3: Leapfrogging from traditional hospitals to digital-first models

Advanced medical technologies, disruptive innovations and digital communication are the new norm in healthcare. While digital care delivery existed pre-pandemic, Covid-19 gave it a strong impetus and paved the way for quick regulations, informed decision-making by clinicians, increased consumer adoption and nuanced care delivery. In this panel, we will discuss how traditional businesses, in the light of new competition, need to transform themselves. We will also discuss how the age-old paradigm of the paternalistic model of medicine transformed into a more holistic, integrative (payer and provider-led) care, and is driving the best of healthcare in the modern age augmented by disruptive technologies.
