FPM is designed for individuals passionate about research and building a career in academia and welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds with an interest in these fields. Ideal candidates possess a university degree from an accredited institution, demonstrate superior academic credentials, and show commitment to high-quality research at an international level. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

ISB aims to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds, nationalities, and educational experiences. The common denominators are superior academic credentials and a consistent display of intellectual prowess. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

To be eligible, candidates must hold a university degree from an accredited academic institution. Applicants should typically have a 4-year undergraduate degree, or a 3-year undergraduate degree followed by a postgraduate degree in areas such as business, economics, engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or the liberal arts.

Regardless of their field of study, applicants must possess a strong academic record and demonstrate creativity, self-motivation, and ingenuity in their prior academic and work experiences. They must also have a keen interest in pursuing a research and teaching career in academia.

Above all, candidates must demonstrate the ability to engage in high-quality research and the commitment to be an academician at an international level.

Candidates will be assessed based on their outstanding intellectual ability, motivation, faculty recommendations, and personal characteristics required for an international academic career. There is no specific requirement concerning fields of study at the undergraduate level. However, standard postgraduate entry tests (GMAT, GRE, CAT, JRF) will be used to assess general ability and, if necessary, proficiency in English.

Test Requirements

All applicants are required to take one of the following tests before submitting their application. Applications will not be considered without a valid test score.

  • Graduate Record Examination General Test (GRE) administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), Princeton, USA
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) administered by Pearson VUE, Bloomington, USA
  • Common Admission Test (CAT)
  • JRF-qualified score report of UGC NET

All applications must be submitted online. A complete application must include the following:

  • Photograph
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Certified copies of all university degrees or diplomas
  • Official transcripts of grades
  • A valid GMAT or GRE or CAT or JRF-qualified score report of UGC NET
  • TOEFL score report for applicants whose language of instruction at the undergraduate level is not English
  • Three letters of recommendation from faculty or scholars regarding the applicant’s academic ability and potential for research and teaching
  • Application fee: INR 5,000 (to be paid according to the guidelines in the online form)

Fees and Scholarships

Financial aid is typically awarded for a duration of five years. In line with other leading international institutions, ISB may offer additional funding for selected students who have not completed their dissertations within this period. This extension is at the discretion of the Faculty Advisor/Dissertation Chair and the FPM Director. Students on leave are not eligible for financial aid.

ISB Hyderabad Campus

The FPM is a five-year, full-time programme. In the first two years, you will undertake core management courses. The subsequent years are dedicated to research and the completion of your doctoral dissertation. Please note that the FPM is a full-time, on-campus programme and is not available in part-time or distance learning formats.

Generally, we do not grant exemptions from courses. However, if you can demonstrate advanced knowledge in a specific area, you may be considered for exemption. Exemption requests should be submitted to the course instructor and must be approved by the FPM Dean. If approved, alternative coursework may be proposed.

No. ISB's FPM courses are not available online. The programme is delivered on-campus and is full-time.

The application fee is INR 5000, payable online by credit card. We do not accept cash, cheques, or money orders.

You can start filling out the online application form and complete all sections except for the test score. However, please note that the complete application can only be submitted once you have entered a valid test score. Therefore, it is mandatory to take the test before submitting the complete application form by the deadline of January 31, 2025.
