Career and Professional Development
From my vantage point as Joint Secretary, Fisheries, Government of India, in the Indian Administrative Service, I joined the PGP MAX at ISB seeking fresh perspectives, deeper learning, and a renewed sense of purpose.
What drew me to the programme was not a degree, a credential or a career shift. I came for the sheer joy of learning. I came to broaden my perspective beyond the public sector, to engage with diverse minds, to explore new ideas and to rediscover what leadership and service truly meant.
Learning Beyond Boundaries
From the very first term, ISB surpassed every expectation. The intellectual depth of the curriculum, the rigour of the coursework and the powerful blend of theory and practice opened new dimensions of thought. What stood out most was the institution’s unwavering emphasis on leadership with values. Business growth is never viewed in isolation at ISB. It is seen as interconnected with societal welfare, human dignity and ethical purpose.
Through this journey, I have come to appreciate how purpose-driven leadership can harmonise public policy and corporate strategy. It has shown me how sustainable and inclusive impact emerges when these worlds work in alignment rather than in opposition.
Equally enriching has been my experience within the cohort. My peers come from entrepreneurship, corporate leadership and multiple professional domains. Their questions, experiences and perspectives have challenged and inspired me. The camaraderie and collaboration have rekindled a spirit of curiosity and humility that is fundamental to personal growth.
Leadership That Connects Policy, People and Purpose
PGP MAX has widened my horizons in ways that sharpen both intellect and empathy. It has strengthened my belief that the most enduring value lies in leadership that bridges divides. Those divides may be between government and enterprise, efficiency and equity or ambition and compassion.
As I look ahead, I hope to apply these learnings to build inclusive ecosystems that encourage innovation and dignity in work. This continues to be my purpose as a public servant: To serve society with wisdom, integrity and a deep commitment to human-centred growth.
