Shashank Satya Nukala: Guarding Frontiers

Armed with professional experience which displays his exemplary leadership and legal acumen, 31-year-old, Captain Shashank Satya Nukala (retd) is “ready to take a plunge in to the corporate world and solve problems in a different work setting.”

Having commanded an Infantry company along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, Shashank joined ISB's PGP Class of 2024 with a yearning for new challenges. He explains, "The rigorous programme at ISB offers me the opportunity to push myself academically once again, surrounded by some of the brightest minds in our country. I also wanted to enhance my existing set of soft skills with hard skills and dive into the corporate world to solve problems in a different setting."

Having served as a Branch Officer in the Judge Advocate General’s department, the legal branch of the Indian Army, for five years, Shashank brings a unique perspective to the table. With an educational foundation consisting of a BSc (Hons) LLB (Hons) from National Law University Jodhpur, he is equipped with the legal knowledge and expertise that has shaped his successful career.

"I am proud of serving at the LoC and contributing to the welfare of my team by ensuring zero casualties during my tenure, while successfully executing operations within the assigned area. I also excelled as an independent officer-in-charge of the legal cell for the state of Odisha, arguing and defending over 20 cases before various courts and tribunals," he explains. 

"As a member of the PGP Class of 2024, I have access to one of the best alumni networks in the country, and even the world. This opens doors to a plethora of challenging opportunities for me. My diverse background will enable me to bring a unique perspective to the class and contribute to the peer-to-peer learning environment at the school. Moreover, I wanted to acquire hard skills to complement my existing set of soft skills as I embark on my corporate journey," he adds.
