ISB collaborates with Government of Andhra Pradesh as Knowledge Partner

The Indian School of Business signed an MoU with Government of Andhra Pradesh in a first of its kind virtual MoU signing ceremony on August 05, 2020. Mr JVN Subramanyam, IAS, CEO Economic Development Board and Prof. Rajendra Srivastava, Dean ISB have exchanged an MoU in the presence of Sri Mekapati Goutham Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Commerce, IT, and SDT in a virtual event. ISB will be the lead knowledge partner of the Government of Andhra Pradesh in working towards greater public good and strive towards evidence based public policy and citizen centric next level of governance.

ISB will be working with the various departments in Government of Andhra Pradesh, including – Department of Infrastructure, Investments, Industries and Commerce; Department of Information Technology and Department of Skill Development and Training. The MoU would enable greater synergistic functioning of Government departments and work towards the objective of economic monitoring, recovery and development.

The MoU will also nurture a think tank by setting up a Policy lab called “GoAP-ISB Policy Lab”, a public policy laboratory to drive evidence-based policy decisions. It aims to create a Knowledge Bank for strategic planning, policy analysis, data analytics and action-research essential for sustaining high rates of growth and successful completion within the committed timelines with focus on investment flows, their efficacy in terms of value addition, employment generation and wealth creation.

ISB will be taking up four projects as part of its initiative on JumpStartIndia@ISB, through which expert faculty along with student experience generates solutions to the most pressing challenges before the country, with a focus on state-specific solutions. Under the initiative, students and faculty will work together in key areas identified in consultation with experts as priority challenges where ISB’s expertise is strongest and most relevant. Some of the projects taken under JSI include – building a platform to revive the informal sector in AP; attracting industrial investments in AP; AP Pulse; and high-frequency high-resolution indicators for monitoring economic recovery in AP.

“We are working with ISB for the past few months on identifying various areas of collaboration. Today We are on boarding ISB as our knowledge partner to work on various initiatives in skill development, e-governance, turning Vishakhapatnam into a growth engine, improving value addition in food processing etc.”, said Hon’ble Minister Shri Goutham Reddy
