About the Event
The workshop led by Prof. Omar El Housni will introduce participants to the fundamentals of assortment optimization and provide an overview of emerging research topics in the area.
Who Should Attend & Prerequisites
Target audience: PhD students and faculty members.

Omar El Housni is an assistant professor at Cornell Tech and in the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering at Cornell University, and a Graduate Field Member in Operations Research and Applied Mathematics.

- Choice Models Beyond MNL — Nested Logit, Mixed Logit, Markov Chain, estimation
- Assortment Optimization under MNL — unconstrained; constrained: cardinality, capacity constraints, TUM
- Assortment Optimization under Mixed Logit — IP formulation, NP-hardness and complexity
- Assortment Optimization under Markov Chain Choice Model — complexity and algorithms
- Online Assortment Optimization — online arrivals, policies and guarantees
- Joint Inventory and Assortment Optimization — fluid approximation, LP-based algorithms
- Two-Sided Assortment Optimization — match-based choices
