Vishal Karungulam
Academic Director, The LAB – Office of Experiential Learning
Vishal Karungulam is a Clinical Assistant Professor (Teaching), Information Systems at the Indian School of Business (ISB), where he teaches courses on Software Product Management, Digital Innovation, Artificial Intelligence, Design Thinking, Software Startups and Disruptive Technologies.
He is also the Academic Director of The LAB (Learning Through Action in Business), which functions as the Office of Experiential Learning at ISB. The LAB aims to infuse action-oriented learning methodologies across the ISB curriculum, spanning all the PGP programmes.
Prior to this, Professor Karungulam was Head of Product for Data Analytics and BI Products at Google India, leading the self-service and governed BI platforms Looker Studio and Looker, while also overseeing various data and analytics products.
Before joining Google, he held several leadership roles in product management and software engineering. He served as Group Product Manager, leading product management teams that build software for Surface, Xbox, and HoloLens, and was the product lead for Azure FarmBeats. He also played a pivotal role in Microsoft's supply chain transformation across hardware and Azure cloud products.
Before Microsoft, he worked as Lead Software Engineer for various large healthcare and hi-tech customers at Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.
A TEDx speaker, musician, and an avid quizzer, Professor Karungulam is passionate about bringing together the worlds of industry and academia.
