The case is about Lata, a serial entrepreneur whose primary product was tofu - the soy cheese, and the challenges she faced in sustaining the business. Though the business had been steadily rising, she was not sure of the market continuity. Lata was facing a number of managerial issues on various fronts which included – identifying potential customers and new geographies, procuring new equipment, improving cash flow, procurement of raw materials, managing relationship with suppliers, handling the undependable labour, dealing with capacity constraints and developing a business succession plan. Though there was enough potential for the product, she was overwhelmed by the enormous effort that was required to tap this potential.
