Abstract
Problem Statement
Refrigerators come in many different models and sizes (Top freezer refrigerator (150-500L), Bottom freezer refrigerator (250-450L), Single door refrigerator (100-250L), French door refrigerator (350-600L), Side-by-side refrigerator (400-650L), Mini refrigerator (40-100L). The number of refrigerators made in India in 2025 is forecasted to be 27.5 million units. After a refrigerator is delivered to a customer, it is unpacked and installed by a technician. The packaging materials are not recovered or recycled but discarded into the environment. What can be done to minimize environmental damage by recovering, recycling, or redesigning the packaging, safeguarding the interests of the triple bottom line?
