Abstract
This study explores the intersection of social psychology and family business research through a bibliometric analysis of 2,786 articles spanning 42 years. Utilizing Bibliometrix in R and VoS Viewer for network analysis, the study identifies emerging trends, including the growing focus on socioemotional wealth and family dynamics in post-2000 literature, particularly within high-context cultures. Key themes such as social psychological constructs in strategy, cultural cohesion, prosociality, and power dynamics are distilled. Additionally, the study proposes a conceptual framework mapping family business development across cognitive clarity and relational complexity, providing a structured approach to understanding governance and relational dynamics. The analysis uncovers under-researched areas like discrimination and stereotyping, emphasizing the need to integrate social psychology for broader insights into organizational and cultural contexts. This review advances the field by moving beyond isolated constructs and offering clear pathways for future research.
