Indian School of Business inks comprehensive partnership with University of Sydney Business School

Providing a major impetus in fostering new and futuristic paradigms in management education, two triple-crowned Business Schools, the Indian School of Business (ISB) and University of Sydney Business School (USBS) have entered a five-year partnership, which is one of the most comprehensive of its kind.

These two world-class business schools have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote research collaborations, academic exchange, and student mobility. Cooperation between the two schools will be explored in academic research, doctoral research, coursework education, corporate engagement and in contributing to policy development in and for a post-COVID world.  The partnership is ISB’s first comprehensive partnership with an Australian School in the business and management field, which was launched formally today at a webinar.

Much was achieved under Professor Rajendra Srivastava’s tenure in building ISB’s reputation as a leading business school in India and internationally. ISB is delighted to have yet another globally acclaimed thought leader like Professor Madan Pillutla to lead the school in its exciting next phase. I have no doubt that ISB will achieve even greater heights under his leadership in terms of excellence in business education and importantly, equipping its students to become future ready in a fast-changing world. On behalf of the Executive Board and ISB community, I welcome Dean Pillutla.

In the face of what seems an increasingly divided world since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, we must seize opportunities to deepen our partnerships with international institutions. Despite the challenges of distance, we are delighted to celebrate this new partnership with such a prestigious institution and look forward to many more collaborations with the Indian School of Business.
Professor Greg Whitwell
Dean of the University of Sydney Business School

Joint initiatives being planned include a dual master’s degree, which would be delivered both at the University of Sydney and the Indian School of Business, executive education programmes, as well doctoral student mobility and co-supervision. Both schools see international immersion as a core requirement for developing future-ready graduates. In 2019, the University of Sydney was ranked the largest student mobility program in Australia for the second year in a row.

The Indian School of Business, over the last twenty years has grown at a rapid pace and has earned several prestigious accolades. ISB is the youngest business school to consistently rank among the top global MBA programmes. Professor Pillutla brings with him over 25 years of rich and varied work experience at the London Business School and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to the fore, which in turn will facilitate ISB scale newer and greater heights.
