Overview
As an Academic Associate, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside world-renowned resident and visiting faculty to deliver high-quality courses and shape the learning experiences of future business leaders. This role is ideal for young, energetic individuals with a strong academic background who aspire to pursue a career in higher education, research, or teaching. Many ISB Academic Associates often pursue a Ph.D. at internationally renowned universities or business schools, or transition into teaching positions at well-known universities.
You will primarily support faculty in course delivery, manage academic activities, and ensure smooth classroom operations — from facilitating sessions and grading assignments to enabling engaging learning experiences. Additionally, you will have a unique opportunity to pursue one of the two structured certification tracks as part of our Academic Associate Certificate Program (AACP):

- Research Track

Qualifications
Educational Background:
- Master’s degree required. (Accounting, Commerce (with Accounting/Taxation specialisation), Finance, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance), Economics, or related quantitative disciplines).
- Candidates pursuing or holding a PhD in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or related areas are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not mandatory, candidates with the following background or expertise will be at an advantage.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, accounting policies, journal entries, ledgers, adjustments, and preparation/analysis of financial statements.
- Knowledge of costing, budgeting, variance analysis, and managerial accounting concepts.
- Understanding of compliance, tie-outs, reconciliations, or documentation requirements in accounting/audit contexts.
- Ability to work with quantitative and qualitative data related to corporate reporting, disclosure quality, governance, or accounting analytics.
- Exposure to tools such as Excel (advanced), Stata, R, Python (basic), SPSS, AMOS, SmartPLS, Tally, Busy, QuickBooks, or other ERP/accounting systems.
- Experience supporting or teaching accounting courses such as Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation.

- Strong communication skills, particularly in mentoring and engaging with students.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across various functions within the department.
- Fundamental proficiency in mathematics and statistics.
- Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, and academic support in higher education setup preferred.
- Familiarity with MS Excel functions, including data sorting, VLOOKUP, filters, descriptive statistics, and chart creation.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital tools for managing course materials and student data are desirable.

Ensure fulfilment of audit requirements by accurately documenting all grading, student communications, and course-related interactions. Maintain organized records to support internal audits and compliance reviews. |

Audit courses for certification requirements (teaching or research). Attend workshops, seminars, and peer learning sessions focused on both instructional strategies and research development. Participate in faculty-led research projects to develop research skills and gain experience, enhancing overall research competencies (subject to opportunity). |
