Hyderabad: Telangana is recognised as a prime industrial state with high per capita income, and later on as one of the IT hubs of India. As the entreprenurial capital flow continues unhindered in the state, the government is keen to engage the Indian School of Business (ISB) to improve the employability skills of the state's youths.
The State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Government of Telangana entered an agreement with the School on Friday, aiming to improve employability of graduates from the state.
As part of the two-year MoU, ISB will develop the curriculum for four skilling areas namely, Business literacy, Behavioral Skills, Digital Literacy and Entrepreneurial literacy. The courses will be developed by ISB as asynchronous recorded sessions hosted from its Learning Management System platform.
ISB's world class faculty and some eminent business leaders would jointly develop this programm which is targeted at fresh graduates. Telangana state also has among the highest annual rates of graduating engineers in the country.
Speaking about the programme, Navin Mittal, Commissioner of Collegiate and Technical Education said, the collaboration with ISB would improve employability skills of Telangana graduates, including those hailing from far corners of the state.
"Today's MoU with SBTET will go a long way in making the state of Telangana a center of skilled (work)force. ISB looks forward to skilling youth from the state to be globally competitive," remarked Professor Madan Pillutla, Dean, ISB.
Professor Deepa Mani, Deputy Dean-Digital Initiatives and Executive Education expressed that the MoU will ‘elevate young minds to think out-of-the-box’ and equip them with relevant and realistic approaches in their professional life.
The MoU was signed by Professor Deepa Mani, Deputy Dean, ISB and Dr C Srinath, Secretary, SBTET, in the presence of K T Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister for IT, Industries, MA & UD, Government of Telangana.
Navin Mittal, Commissioner, Collegiate and Technical Education, Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries & IT, Govt. of Telangana, Professor Madan Pillutla, Dean, ISB, Ajit Rangnekar and D N V Kumara Guru were present on the occassion at the Hyderabad campus of ISB.
