About the Event

The Data Science Summit (DSS) 2027, hosted by the ISB Institute of Data Science (IIDS) at the Indian School of Business, convenes leaders from government, industry, academia and the technology ecosystem to examine a defining challenge of the AI era: how can organisations harness increasingly capable intelligent systems while safeguarding the infrastructure, institutions and people that rely on them?

From foundation models and Generative AI to autonomous agents, rapid advances in AI are redefining how organisations innovate, operate and make decisions. These capabilities promise greater productivity, new business models and more responsive public services. Yet their adoption also raises consequential questions about cybersecurity, accountability, operational resilience, technological dependence and digital trust.

DSS 2027 brings these opportunities and challenges into a single conversation, exploring the intersection of enterprise AI, cybersecurity, quantum technologies and digital governance.

From AI Innovation to Cyber Resilience

The Summit will examine what it takes to move from AI experimentation to responsible deployment at scale—delivering tangible value while strengthening security, resilience and accountability.

The programme will explore questions shaping the next phase of AI adoption:

  • How will proprietary and open-source foundation models shape the next generation of Agentic AI?

  • How can enterprises translate Generative AI and autonomous agents into measurable, sustainable value?

  • Where might quantum computing and Agentic AI converge, and what remains beyond current technological readiness?

  • How can organisations govern and secure AI agents, including their identities, privileges, decisions and interactions?

  • How can nations strengthen sovereign AI capabilities while managing dependencies across data, compute and technology infrastructure?

  • How can AI enhance fraud detection, anti-money laundering and regulatory compliance while preserving transparency and accountability?

  • What leadership, architectural and governance capabilities are needed to deploy Agentic AI responsibly at enterprise scale?

These themes run throughout the DSS 2027 programme, from foundation-model competition and quantum–AI convergence to cyber resilience, sovereign AI, financial governance and enterprise leadership.

Assessing proprietary and open-source large language models, their trade-offs, interoperability and their role in powering autonomous agents.

Examining the transition from isolated AI pilots to enterprise-wide adoption, with an emphasis on demonstrable value, organisational readiness and scalable implementation.

Exploring emerging research at the intersection of quantum computing and AI, including hybrid approaches, possible applications and technological constraints.

Addressing the security implications of autonomous systems, including prompt injection, data poisoning, excessive privileges, unintended actions and governance gaps.

Strengthening the technical and organisational capacity to anticipate, withstand, respond to and recover from evolving cyber threats while maintaining trust in digital systems.
