The 5th ISB – POMS the workshop focuses on applications of technology to decision making and its impact on supply chains.

About the Event

Topics: The workshop will focus on diverse yet related topics such as agriculture and food supply chains, healthcare operations, pharmaceutical supply networks, retail operations, risk management, and sustainability that are motivated by problems in emerging economies, using datasets from these settings and/or has policy implications for these contexts. However, these attributes are not necessary for submission. All methodologies (analytical modeling, empirical modeling, statistics) are welcome, and the emphasis is on the rigorous execution of these methodologies and the practical relevance of the results.

Format: The workshop will comprise a single track of approximately ten high-quality presentations over 1.5 working days. Each presentation will be of 30 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of discussion. In addition to the presentations, the workshop programme will include keynote talks and a dedicated slot for a poster session featuring the work of PhD students.

The 5th ISB – POMS workshop is aimed at showcasing cutting edge practice and academic research in the area of Technology based innovations and impact on supply chains.


Topics:
The objective of the workshop is to demonstrate applications of technology in decision making and its impact on supply chains. We invite submissions on topics such as, but not limited to, innovative business models e.g., Uber, Airbnb, that are enabled by technology, applications of technology in areas such as healthcare delivery, non-profit and public sector operations, retail operations, service operations, inventory management, the impact of digitization on performance of supply chains, supply chain analytics. All analysis methodologies (analytical modeling, empirical modeling, experiments) are welcome and the emphasis is on rigorous execution of these methodologies and practical relevance of the results.

Submission guidelines:

To be considered for the workshop, authors are requested to upload an extended abstract by September 17th, 2017 using the paper submission link provided on the right.

The extended abstract should include a brief description of the research problem, the key methodology used and assumptions, and a summary of main results and policy / managerial implications. The abstract should not exceed four pages, in Times New Roman, font size 12, and can be submitted in Word or .pdf format. Submissions will be peer-reviewed and final decisions regarding all acceptances will be communicated by October 8, 2017. Limited financial support will be provided to the presenters.

Registration

Registration Fees and Expenses:

Registration fee for non-student attendees is INR 8000 (USD 125) and INR 2000 (USD 30) for student attendees. Registration fee will be waived for presenters. 

Payment policy:

All workshop attendees and guests must register online. A credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) is required to make a payment. Guests can only register in association with primary attendees. In case you are facing a difficulty in making the online payment for registration, you can avail the ‘on-site’ registration option where the registration fee can be paid at the venue. On-site registration during the workshop is strictly subject to availability of seating capacity.
