The Bharti Institute of Public Policy at the Indian School of Business regularly convenes in-person capacity-building workshops for senior officials from state governments, education departments, and SCERTs as part of its sustained commitment to strengthening governance and leadership across the education sector. These immersive programmes focus on academic leadership, AI adoption, institutional management, learning outcomes, evaluation, and evidence-based policymaking.
First Batch of the Academic Leadership Programme, Government of Goa for Principals
The Bharti Institute of Public Policy, Indian School of Business, in collaboration with the Government of Goa and the Goa State Council of Educational Research and Training (GSCERT), delivered a three-phase Academic Leadership Programme for principals of government and government-aided senior secondary schools across Goa. The programme comprised two online foundation sessions held on 21–22 January 2026, a three-day residential module at the ISB Mohali Campus from 27–29 January 2026, and a concluding two-day workshop in Panaji, Goa, on March 17-18, 2026. The curriculum focused on strategic decision-making, team building, reflective leadership, and adaptive governance through frameworks such as DAC, Cynefin, and DACI, alongside the Harvard 'Patient Zero' simulation. Sessions were delivered by Professor Pranav Jindal, Professor Rajeshwar Upadhyay, and Ms. Shweta Rajput. The final phase, led by Dr. Aarushi Jain, Srinjita Roy, and Hammad Bin Tarique, concluded with presentations of Visionary School Innovation Projects spanning experiential learning, digital integration, infrastructure, sustainability, peer learning, and student well-being, demonstrating participants' readiness to drive institutional transformation across Goa's public education system.
Second Batch of the Academic Leadership Programme, Government of Goa for Principals
As part of the second batch of the Academic Leadership Programme for Principals of Senior Secondary Schools, a three-day residential module was conducted at the ISB Mohali Campus from 20 to 23 April 2026. The three-day residential module focused on strengthening academic leadership through immersive sessions on emotional intelligence, learning agility, self-awareness, compassionate leadership, the Johari Window, and the Go-Giver philosophy, led by Professor R. Rajeshwar Upadhyay. The programme concluded with the fourth phase, held in Kadamba, Old Goa, from 11–12 June 2026, where Dr. Aarushi Jain, Director, Bharti Institute of Public Policy, led sessions on generative AI, prompt design, the TIC-CO framework, and AI-assisted school leadership tools. The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates by Shri Prasad Lolayekar, IAS, Secretary (Education), Government of Goa, and Smt. Meghana Shetgaonkar, Director, GSCERT, Goa.
Academic Leadership Programme for the Goa State Council of Educational Research and Training (GSCERT) and Directorate of Education Officials
The Bharti Institute of Public Policy, Indian School of Business, welcomed senior officials from the Goa State Council of Educational Research and Training (GSCERT) and the Directorate of Education, Government of Goa, to the ISB Mohali Campus for a week-long Academic Leadership Programme held from 14–20 June 2026. The programme featured sessions by Dr. Aarushi Jain on generative AI, Mr. Vivek Atray on self-awareness and emotional intelligence, Professor Rajeshwar Upadhyay on resilience, and Professor Nandu Nandkishore on strategy in disruptive environments. As part of the programme, a cross-state learning excursion to Himachal Pradesh, engaging with Shri Ashish Kohli, Director of School Education, on literacy, governance reforms, and key education initiatives. The visit included the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Rashtrapati Niwas, and the Dr Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (MSHIPA), Shimla, where, as part of the programme, Shri Deepak Sanan, IAS (Retd.), delivered a session on education performance assessment through the PGI and PARAKH frameworks.
