Doctoral Consortium

The ISC 2025 Doctoral and New Faculty Consortium is designed for:

• PhD students who are in the dissertation proposal stage (typically 3rd year of the PhD program or later)
• New faculty members, within three years of completing their PhD.

The objective of the consortium is to support doctoral students as they shape their dissertations and job market papers, and to provide early-career faculty with insights on topics such as publishing their dissertations and managing teaching and research responsibilities.

Participants will have opportunities to discuss their work in small groups with distinguished faculty and peers to meet and interact with future colleagues and to enhance their scholarship and overall development. The consortium will also include panels on topics relevant to junior scholars including:

• The making of a globally respected scholar
• What makes a good dissertation? / Managing your first job
• A paper's journey
• Publishing using non-standard data

The ISC 2025 Doctoral and New Faculty Consortium co-organizers are Kannan Srikanth (The Ohio State University) and Vivek Tandon (Temple University).

Interested scholars should apply via the application website no later than November 1, 2025. All applicants will be notified of admission decisions by the end of November 2025.

Please email your applications to ConsortiumISC2025@isb.edu. Applicants will be notified of admission decisions by the end of November 2025. We have a limited number of travel scholarships for PhD students available to cover some of the costs of attending the conference. If you wish to be considered for these, please mention it in your email.

The research proposal should:

1. not exceed 4000 words, including references, charts, graphs, diagrams etc.
2. be single-spaced with 12-point font.
3. include references formatted in APA style.
4. include a title and an abstract (nor more than 125 words).
