Technology, Geopolitics, and Competitive Advantage: Strategy in the New Global Order

Global trade and supply chains are being fundamentally changed by increasing geopolitical risks, economic nationalism, and new technological trends. The increasing use of AI by firms, increases in the global competition for key resources, and policy-induced shifts in the geographic distribution of talent have created new challenges for firms and altered the industry and competitive dynamics. Consequently, companies need new capabilities to sense, seize, and reconfigure to sustain their competitive advantage amidst greater uncertainty. The convergence of alternative to traditional non-market strategies, reorganization of global value chains, and new institutional complexities, exacerbated by the spread of Artificial Intelligence and digital systems, requires a deeper insight into how firms can orchestrate internal and external resources across national and supranational borders to bolster their competitive advantage. Moreover, as AI modifies coordination methods, decision-making processes, and the allocation of strategic capabilities, businesses must reconsider how they blend technological, human, and other tangible and intangible resources and capabilities in a variety of institutional contexts.

The Indian School of Business (ISB), Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), and Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) host the India Strategy Conference (ISC) annually at their respective campuses. ISC 2025, hosted at ISB, will focus on addressing critical challenges in strategic management and international business, particularly regarding these emerging issues. This event seeks to provide a platform for discussing the strategic implications associated with global supply chain management, trade policies, and the impact of nationalism on the trade of goods, services, and factors.

  1. Material used for the Poster
ISC 2025 prefers posters to be large single sheet of paper or flex material that can be rolled and carried in a tube. However, if you do not have facilities for making a single sheet, then making your poster using several sheets of normal A4 or any stationary is acceptable.
  2. Orientation and Size

  3. Track Name
The name of the Track to which your proposal was submitted should be at the top of your poster. The Track name should be in letters at least 1 inch high. The Track name should be in black letters on white background.
  4. Poster Title
Place this under the Track Name. It should be the same as the title of your proposal. It should be in black letters on a yellow background band to distinguish it from the Track title.
  5. Author Names & Affiliations

  6. General Poster Design Tips
Other than the above Requirements for Track name, Poster Title, and Author Names & Affiliations, ISC 2025 does not impose any restrictions on the formatting of your poster. We encourage you to be creative. However, do keep in mind that:
  • Your poster should be legible from a distance of 3 feet.
