Michael Hilti

Michael Hilti (born 1946) was elected Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors at the 2018 Annual General Meeting. A member of the Board of Directors since 1990, he is the son of the company’s founder, Martin Hilti. Michael joined the company in 1975 and was appointed to the Executive Board one year later. He became Deputy CEO in 1978 and served as CEO from 1990 to 1993. From 1994 to 2006, he held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors.

In addition to his corporate roles, Michael is a Trustee of the Martin Hilti Family Trust, Chairman of the Hilti Art Foundation, and a member of the Board of the Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein and the Hilti Foundation. He has also served in numerous directorships and was honoured with the title of Princely Commerce Councillor by Hans-Adam II, Prince of Liechtenstein.

Michael has received several distinctions, including the Honorary Senator title from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) and the University of Liechtenstein.
