Dr. Nupur Pavan Bang is a globally recognized academician and thought leader specializing in family businesses. Currently serving as the Director cum Dean of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’s (ICAI) Centre of Excellence, Hyderabad, Dr. Bang brings over two decades of expertise in research, teaching, and leadership.

A distinguished voice in the field, Dr. Bang frequently speaks at industry forums on themes such as next-generation leadership in family enterprises, succession planning, family governance, family offices, and the role of women in family businesses. Her insights stem from extensive interactions with prominent family enterprises, enabling her to delve into their challenges, strengths, and best practices.

As an academic, she has 22 years of teaching experience across premier institutions, including Ashoka University, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, and IIM Ranchi. She has authored numerous research papers, case studies, white papers, and articles for prestigious Indian and international publications.

Dr. Bang has been lauded for her contributions, being listed among the Top 100 Women in Finance in India (2020) and inducted into the Family Business Hall of Fame by Family Business United, UK (2022).

Previously, Dr. Bang served as Academic Director at the Thomas Schmidheiny Centre for Family Enterprise, Indian School of Business (ISB). She has also held key positions such as Head of Analytics at the Insurance Information Bureau of India (IIB), an initiative of IRDAI, Associate Professor at IBS Hyderabad, and Auditor in Singapore.

Dr. Bang holds a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from ISB, a PhD in Finance, and is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), UK.
