Altınörs has been in the Foreign Service for 20 years. He assumed charge as Turkey Consul General in Hyderabad on 15 January 2018. His prior positions include Counsellor in the Permanent Mission of Turkey to the United Stations, New York (2009-2013 and 2015-2018), Advisor at the Permanent Delegation of Turkey to the European Union, Brussels (2003-2007). He was the Head of Environment Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara between 2014 and 2015 as well as a member of the G20 Presidency Team of Turkey. Mr. Altınörs received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. He carried out academic studies in fluid dynamics in the Monash University (Australia), the von Karman Institute (Belgium) and the Columbia University (USA)
