Lee Joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991, worked as Director of the Office of Overseas People Protection, Public Press Relations, Division of Southeast Asia and Division of Southwest Asia, Served overseas 1n Seattle, Singapore, Tanzania as Consul and First Secretary, Also served in Taipei as Director of Political Affairs during 2005-2008, Croatia as Counselor, Iraq as Minister-Counselor during 2010-2012, Sao Paulo as Vice Consul-General.

Lee arrived in New Delhi in December, 2016, as the DCM and Minister of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. Lee and his wife have two daughters and one son.
