ISB Healthcare 4.0 focuses on the health system design that can create opportunities and newer ways of delivering care in the future. Several emerging trends and their early applications are shaping the development of models that prioritises innovative approaches in healthcare delivery, placing health outcomes at the forefront. This effort seeks to redefine the landscape of healthcare delivery.
The second edition of ISB Healthcare 4.0—the healthcare conference organised by the Indian School of Business’s Max Institute of Healthcare Management (ISB MIHM)— is set to bring together multiple stakeholders of the healthcare ecosystem, including ISB alumni, industry leaders, academia, corporate professionals, policymakers to discuss trends and early use cases for the healthcare of the future on February 9, 2024 at Hyderabad campus of ISB.
Ideas and early use cases being discussed at ISB Healthcare 4.0:
In this session, a panel of experts, including healthcare strategists, innovators, providers, and global health experts, will highlight three significant ideas defining the future of healthcare. Firstly, collaborative care, promoting a decentralised approach that encourages teamwork and shared responsibilities across the healthcare ecosystem. Secondly, redefinition of primary care, emphasising an outward orientation and proactive care paving the way for a more comprehensive and patient-centric healthcare paradigm. Lastly, the reimagination of health care in which insurers and providers work much more closely together to ensure patient well-being.
Against the backdrop of the resilient growth of the Indian healthcare sector in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, private equity firms, both domestic and international, have played a pivotal role. Their contributions include facilitating accelerated growth, enhancing performance, and introducing clinical advancements in the companies they invest in. Notably, in 2023, these firms injected a substantial $4.6 billion into various segments of the Indian healthcare industry, spanning pharmaceuticals, healthcare providers, payers, medtech, and healthtech companies. The panel, comprising experts from both private equity and the industry, will engage in discussions to provide valuable insights on new investment opportunities within this rapidly evolving sector.
The key to delivering an efficient decentralised healthcare model lies in the adept utilisation of technology. This panel will unravel the intricacies of tech-led collaborative care model and its impact on provisioning of primary, secondary, and tertiary level of healthcare. The panel will list down the challenges and opportunities of transformative ideas that have the potential to scale-up this field. The panellists will delve into crucial roles played by technology companies and healthcare organisations for a tech-led decentralised healthcare model.
The conference provides a unique opportunity to engage with up-and-coming startup founders in the Indian healthcare sector, gaining insights into their innovative products. These startups are founded by ISB alumni from various programmes of ISB and alumni from various I-Venture @ISB programmess, including the I-HEAL, I-WIN, and Social Impact cohorts.
