Launch of the first book: The Last Mile-Turning Public Policy Upside Down

Bharti Institute of Public Policy, Indian School of Business launched its Public Policy book series “Innovations, Practice and Future of Public Policy in India” with the launch of the first book in this series. The first book ‘The Last Mile – Turning Public Policy Upside Down’ by Amarjeet Sinha, IAS (retd) was launched at IIC, New Delhi, on 26 October 2023.

Bharti Institute of Public Policy, at the Indian School of Business has partnered with Routledge Publishers UK for the book series.

During the launch of his book, author Amarjeet Sinha thanked all the contributors, and said that this book brings together diverse perspectives of academics and practitioners in the field of public policy in the country and records innovative ideas and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing.

In his closing remarks, Prof. Ashwini Chhatre, Executive Director, Bharti Institute of Public Policy, said that he found the book to be most suitable for both practitioners of public policy as well as the academia. “This book allowed me to clarify that how do you weave together a system where the role of the state is in synergy with the role of the community,” he said.

Eminent speakers spoke about the importance of creating the last mile connect under the vast expanse of human development with focus on specific themes. 

The evening, which was conducted by Dr. Aarushi Jain, Policy Director, BIPP also saw piano performance by Siddharth Mukherjee. 

Launch of the Second book: Technology, Policy, and Inclusion: An Intersection of Ideas for Public Policy

Second book launched under the ISB-Routledge Public Policy Book Series “Innovations, Practice and Future of Public Policy in India”

(New Delhi, June 24): Bharti Institute of Public Policy launched its second book Technology, Policy, and Inclusion: An Intersection of Ideas for Public Policy under the ISB-Routledge public policy book series, “Innovations, Practice and Future of Public Policy in India.”

 The book explores how public policy and technology intersect in India, highlighting strategies for inclusive governance and development through technological innovations. 

The book was launched by eminent members of the Advisory Council of the Bharti Institute including Vinod Kumar Duggal, IAS (Retd.) and former Governor of Manipur; Nanda Kumar T, IAS (Retd.) and former Secretary to Govt. of India; and R.P Singh, IAS (Retd.), former Chairman, National Highways Authority of India and member of Board Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., Bharti Infratel, and Lodha Developers.

The book, published by Routledge Publishers, had a soft launch in the UK last year and is now   available in India. The book series aims to bring together diverse perspectives of academics and practitioners in the field of public policy in the country and records innovative ideas and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing.
