Description:
The aviation sector is a key enabler of the country's economic activities. The fluctuating demand for passenger air transport and freight due to the COVID-19 pandemic and containment measures threatens the viability of many firms in both the air transport sector and the rest of the aviation industry, with many jobs at stake. While government policies have highly regulated the aviation industry, the COVID-19 crisis has precipitated concerns to sustain the sector. There is a need to promote a sustainable trajectory for civil aviation by better utilising public resources and retaining competition. Our next edition of Business and Policy Dialogue is on this theme.
Please join us on July 8, 2021, at 4 pm as Professor Milind G Sohoni, Professor of Operations Management and Deputy Dean, Indian School of Business converses with Smt Usha Padhee, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, on 'Impact of the pandemic, and policy interventions, on the recovery of the civil aviation sector in India’.
