Professor Ashwini Chhatre participated and presented their research at the Fifth Annual FLARE (Forests and Livelihoods: Assessment, Research, and Engagement) meeting held from August 23-25, 2019, at the University of Michigan. He also organised a pre-conference workshop.
The main objectives of this workshop were to:
- Explore the human dimension of Forest Landscape Restoration
- Evaluate existing research on the success/failure of institutional mechanisms for FLR
- Synthesize insights from available experience of community rights at the landscape level
- Outline a rights-based agenda for action research on FLR
