A trained journalist, Smriti brings with her an experience of reporting and writing, with four national dailies across three different cities, over a period of 12 years. Starting with The Tribune, Chandigarh and then The Indian Express, she went on to work with Deccan Herald in Bangalore and The Statesman in New Delhi in various capacities. She has also worked with a multi-national strategic communications firm in the capacity of a Consulting Associate besides writing freelance articles for news magazines such as India Today, Tehelka.

Graduated as a Science student, studying Physics, Mathematics and Computer Applications from Panjab University, Chandigarh, she has a master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab. She has also done a short-term course in television production from Film and Television Institute (FTII), Pune.

When not writing, she is either cycling, running marathons, binge watching OTT content, reading fiction or eating pizza (not necessarily in that order!)
