Post Event Summary

The Business Plan competition was the key highlight of the “Aadhaar – Opening of a Billion opportunities” organised by SRITNE and WCED on 22nd October 2011. The competition received huge response from all over the country with over 40 plan submissions. Mr. Srini Raju, Mr. Ramesh Loganathan, Prof. Sundarajan, Prof. Bapna and Dr. Tanuku took the time to listen to all the business plans and gave their invaluable feedback. The finals of business plan competition had teams from various prestigious companies/institutes like Deloitte, Infosys, Cognizant, ISB, IIM, etc.  Although many teams were in the concept phase, it was interesting to see a few teams with working prototypes and few who had done field studies as well.  The use of multi-media by participants to demonstrate their business ideas was much appreciated by the judges and the audience.  My heart-felt congratulations to the three finalists:

  1. EasyMontra Technologies: Portable/Mobile Banking using biometrics - Shardul Lavekar and team (Entrepreneur)
  2. Automated Rationing for Public Distribution System - A new and novel system for automatically providing the ration products to a family based on the UID - Prasad Ramanujam and team (Cognizant)
  3. Vishwas - A B2C and C2C financial transaction model which facilitates monetary transactions between multiple bank accounts and credit/debit cards, using biometric and Aadhaar verification – Namrata, Ojas and team (ISB)
