Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the programme, the following criteria need to be fulfilled:

An undergraduate degree in any discipline, preferably with more than five years of experience. Post Grads, entrepreneurs, and consultants with three years of experience are eligible to apply.

Notes:

Letter of consent from the current employer is required for the candidate to pursue the programme. This can be submitted either during the application process or once admission has been secured.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be selected based on their ability to cope with the rigour of the programme, leadership potential, commitment to the operations & supply chain industry and quality of their prior work experience. You will be assessed for your statements of purpose followed by an interview.

ISB has enduring relationships with some of India’s most renowned leaders in operations and supply chain, many of whom are invited to speak during AMPOS residencies and share their experiences in specific sectors. These inspiring sessions provide students first-hand insights into operations and supply chain, including critical challenges faced by the corporates. It ensures an enriching learning experience for the students and a chance for them to interact closely with the distinguished academics and business experts. This exercise also helps build and strengthen the relationship between ISB and the industry leaders.

Basic Details

Is AMPOS a distance education or online programme?

AMPOS is a rigorous and challenging programme. It is designed as a 12-month, modular programme with four residencies, delivered in a blended learning format (on-line and off-line classes) that minimise disruption at work.

Where are the classes for the programme held?

We endeavour to provide our students with an experience of both campuses of ISB. Hence, three residencies are held at the Mohali Campus, and one residency is held at the Hyderabad Campus. The graduation ceremony is held at the Mohali Campus.

Will I get a Master of Business Administration Degree in Manufacturing?

You will receive a Certification.

Programme Details

How many days do I need to block for attending the classes?

The program entails four visits of nine days each over a year (which includes weekends)

How much time will I have to spend studying at home outside the residencies?

We anticipate participants having to spend 8-10 hours per week on pre-reading material and assignments.

How do I prepare and gear up for the programme?

Once you are admitted, please undergo the online course(s). For the rest, you will be provided adequate pre-read material.

When will I get course material and books?

The course material prepared by the faculty in terms of pre-reads, links to relevant websites and related literature will be made available to you in advance. You will have ample time to prepare and complete your pre-reads.

The materials will be uploaded on the Learning Management System (LMS) portal.

What if I need help with understanding course concepts during the period outside the residencies?

You can post your queries on the discussion board in the LMS and Teaching Assistant will resolve your query. If needed, Teaching Assistant will call you and clarify the queries.
Of course, your fellow students can also respond to your query, making the learning collaborative.

Admission

Do I need to take the GMAT?

No. We do not have a GMAT requirement.

Can I defer admissions?

We do not encourage deferrals. In exceptional circumstances deferral may be granted upon submission of documentary proof supporting your reasons for deferral. A non-refundable deferral fee needs to be paid, in addition to the admission fee, to secure your place for the next class. The deferral fee is adjusted in your programme fee when you join the programme. Please note that the programme fee applicable to the year of joining the programme will apply.
Deferral is granted for a maximum of one year beyond which you will need to reapply.

What if my deferral plea is not accepted?

In such a scenario you will have to reapply for the next academic year.

Once I have submitted the application, when will I hear from you?

We will strive to process your application as soon as we receive the same and revert to you within 30 to 45 days.

Is an interview required?

Yes. Interviews allow us to hear about your experiences firsthand and make a qualified judgment. Interviews will be conducted via teleconference or video conference facilities in most cases.

Fees and Financing

If I am unable to join the programme after accepting the admission offer and paying the admission fee will the admission fee be refunded?

In case a student must withdraw from the programme for either academic, personal, or administrative reasons, the student will receive a pro-rated refund for only the remaining terms to the extent that the student has paid for those terms in advance. No refund will be granted for the terms which have already commenced or have been completed. The programme office reserves the right to deduct additional amounts which have been paid in advance to vendors for boarding and lodging, etc. which cannot be recovered by ISB even though the participant has not attended the terms for which these expenses were incurred in advance.

Do we have financing options from Financial Institutions?

Yes, we have a tie-up with CREDILA (a subsidiary of HDFC limited), Axis Bank and AVANSE (a subsidiary of DHFL limited).

If I decide to withdraw from the programme, can I get my tuition fee refunded?

It depends on the timing of your decision. The refund is governed by the refund policy prevailing at that time.

Scholarship

Can I apply for any scholarship?

ISB offers scholarships in following categories:

Women in business
Armed Forces

Applicants looking to apply for scholarship need to submit an essay and necessary documents indicated in the application form. Decision on the scholarship, if awarded, is under the sole discretion of scholarship committee. Only Round I and Round II applicants are eligible for scholarships.

Defence Scholarships:

Under the collaboration with Ministry of Defence:

Scholarship to be extended to current and former Defence Forces Personnel covering the Army/Navy/Air Force falling under the Ministry of Defence.
Upto 2 candidates, per cohort may be extended 50% tuition fee waiver under this collaboration.
Preference will be given to armed forces candidates who apply in the earlier rounds.
Scholarships under this category will be granted based on merit.
Candidates are expected to mention the details of their designation and tenure with armed forces in the Resume to avail the benefit of this scholarship.

Career Services

Does the programme provide campus placement services?

No, the programme does not provide a campus placement service.

Why is campus placement not provided?

Campus placement is not provided for two reasons:

AMPOS is a modular programme for working professionals.
Since participants will have company support, at least by way of time. off from work to attend the programme and therefore respecting the employer’s support, ISB does not feel it is appropriate to offer placement services.
Secondly, participants would be having good amount of work experience and would have targeted positions in companies to work which are generally head hunted.
