An Exchange of Places, Perspectives, and Possibilities

At ISB, international exchange goes far beyond academic mobility. It is an exchange of ideas, cultures, business perspectives, and ways of thinking. Through programme-specific exchange pathways, students from ISB and leading global institutions experience diverse academic ecosystems, business environments, and cultural contexts. The International Exchange Programme enables students to broaden their worldview, build cross-cultural capability, and understand how business is shaped across markets.

ISB offers international exchange opportunities through distinct partner school networks for its programmes:

PGP International Exchange
PGP students have access to a broad global exchange network of 57+ partner schools, enabling them to study at leading business schools across regions and deepen their understanding of international business environments.

PGP YL International Exchange
PGP YL students have access to a curated international exchange network of 13+ partner schools, designed to complement the programme’s learning journey for young leaders and strengthen early exposure to global perspectives.

Whether through inbound exchange, where international students immerse themselves in India’s dynamic economy, or outbound exchange, where ISB students represent the School abroad, each experience nurtures shared learning, global collaboration, and a deeper understanding of business across borders.

With GDP growth among the fastest in the G-20¹ and services exports surpassing US$387 billion², India continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s most dynamic economies. A G-20 nation poised to sustain growth above 6% annually³ - learn where opportunity outpaces uncertainty.

India is a living case study in innovation and adaptability - from digital transformation and fintech inclusion to its thriving start-up ecosystem. Few markets offer this scale of experimentation, resilience, and opportunity.

As a global business hub connecting Asia, the Middle East, and the West, India provides unparalleled exposure to emerging-market leadership, cross-border trade, and diverse industry ecosystems.

Beyond the classroom, it offers a diverse, welcoming, and culturally rich environment that celebrates diversity and nurtures discovery. India offers more than business lessons - it offers an experience of community, creativity, and contrasts. From varied geographies and microeconomies to centuries-old traditions coexisting with cutting-edge innovation, every day in India offers something new to discover.

Students are encouraged to define their goals, location choices, programme duration, fees, curriculum, and career support to choose an exchange programme.

We assist in researching course types, financial aid support, the cost of living, housing options and commute convenience.

For more information, contact the International Exchange Office or explore our 'Exchange Network' section.

The eligibility criteria for an exchange programme are simple.

  • Students must be free of any honour code violations
  • Students must have a CGPA above 2.5
  • Students must ensure no "F" on their transcript (both academic and attendance sections)

The selection procedure for our Outbound Exchange Programme uses a bidding system. A student can bid for a maximum of three exchange programmes, and selection is based primarily on the bidding.

If students opt for our Outbound Exchange Programme, there are no additional tuition fees. However, the student must cover all the living and travel expenses (around ₹5 lakh).

Depending on the country students choose for the exchange, they will need a valid visa. The application process typically takes 1-2 months. Thus, we recommend that students apply beforehand for a hassle-free experience.
