Biography

Akshit Garg’s family business is into power generation and distribution. Their company manufactures Diesel generators in partnership with Kirloskar Oil Engine Limited (KOEL) under the name of Industrial Equipments Company. The company also manufactures electrical switchboards in partnership with Schneider Electric India and Larsen and Toubro under the name of Core Metal Krafts Limited. The company has four manufacturing facilities catering to markets across India and abroad.

Why did you choose PGPMFAB programme?

I come from an engineering background and felt the need to strengthen my decision-making, financial management and human resources skills as well. I believe honing these skills will help me in being a responsible business leader in challenging environments. Experience alone is not sufficient to manage a team, but it must be coupled with the process & data-oriented management which needs formal management education. I need to be rigorously involved in my business to make sure the growth patterns are sustained as we are going through an exponential growth phase.
