Job Purpose

Max Institute of Healthcare Management is looking for a full-time research analyst with strong analytical and quantitative capabilities (preferably experience in transmission/disease modelling) to develop an integrated modeling framework (comprised of operational and epidemiological models) to estimate cost-effectiveness of various genomic surveillance strategies.

Job Outline

The Analyst will work closely with the faculty and project research team in developing models and designing algorithms related to the project. The analyst along with the research team will also be involved in disseminating the findings from the project to various stakeholders including policy makers, public health officials, and academic researchers. The dissemination will include presenting in seminars research talks, writing detailed reports, blogs, and academic manuscripts.

About the project:

The objective of the project is to develop an integrated modeling framework (comprised of operational and epidemiological models) to estimate cost-effectiveness of various genomic surveillance strategies. We aim to apply this framework to the context of COVID-19 pandemic in India using publicly available data to inform policy decisions regarding the country’s genomic surveillance system.

A well-functioning genomic surveillance system provides timely, precise, and accurate information on emerging variants. Faster detection of new variants and ascertaining their functional properties (transmissibility and disease severity) increases the potential public health impact of genomic surveillance systems along with informing important decisions regarding public health response to the pandemic.
